Dr. Mike Muir is an Assistant Professor
of Middle Level Education and Educational
Technology at the University
of Maine at Farmington. His doctoral
research was on what underachieving middle
school students believe motivates them to learn.
He is also director of the Maine
Center for Meaningful Engaged Learning and
active in the Maine
Association for Middle Level Education.
He has conducted workshops across the country
and presented at state and national conferences
for over fifteen years. He has worked for the
Maine Computer Consortium, taught high school
math, and was a middle school Computer Resource
Specialist. Mike was Maine Middle Level Educator
of the Year in 1998.
